Day 61, 62, 63, 64, & 65

March 8.

Monday. JAPAN!

Woke up at 640am and left at 715am to go to airport. Cathay Pacific airlines! Ate at crystal jade, spicy shichuan soup with noodles..and 2 xiao long baos. 3 hour flight. ate chicken with rice on the plane.

On the plane.. 2 hours of sleep only

Arrived in OSAKA, JAPAN at 3pm or around there. We took a bus and headed to Rinku Town Outlets, where I . did. not. buy. anything. I think the place is called Namba, we were at Namba at some point..

At Rinku Outlets..and Japan's ferris wheels

Their MTR system!

Japan at night

Bed we shared

Then we checked in the hotel after I purchused $80USD heels at the mall. OUCHHH. The sales girl was just too nice...and she had some okay english. After we went to eat..ramen! Mmmm sooo goodd $800yen. so about $8USD. It came with a bowl of rice with some random bits of meats in it. Walked around the shopping district around Shinsaibashi, since we stayed at Chisun hotels part of solare hotels.

mm foodd district!

Inside a food shop

those claw machines..reminded me of my big haha

sakura frappe!

So we got back to the room at 11pm? and I slept at 1am. EVERY GIRL IN JAPAN looks the same. like a doll. orange hair. MAD makeup, which makes them look like they got perfect skin and also they have BIG HAIR. and I'm pretty sure all of them wear circle lens or some shit..they look pretty until they smile. Everyone's VERY polite. People rarely run into you/push you like they do in HK. I really like it here besides the fact everyone's japanese and nothing is in english and I would have to socially conform to orange hair and tons of makeup. Highschool girls and younger have black hair and wear uniforms with no makeup..I guess it's in college they all have to conform.

March 9.

Tuesday. Woke up soo early.....7am! We went to Sannomiya and had Kobe steak.

Then shopped a bit..window shopped but I found my CURE exfoliating gel I was looking for.

Got REAL GREEN TEA MOCHI!! mmm

Then we went to Umeda and Tennoji to shop because the weather sucks and it rained :(. I got green tea mochi too!! $120yen? For dinner we went to this buffet where you..fry your own food. MAD EFFING expensive! like $30USD. AND I didn't even eat that much. But it was a place you should try I guess...We had a nice guy that spoke mandarin and he gave use free choice of beverage instead of paying another $500yen for it, since "you guys are girls and you never been here" LOL. Nice. Of course, I didn't understand any of that.

Then headed back to Namba/Shinsaibashi for some shopping...

The japanese MTR is so expensive...3USD+ for every trip...and we change train companies too...damnn . Not even that many stop, like 4 stops for 3USD then another 300yen for another couple of stops. I think most of my money went to the MTR here. So..everyone rides bikes and I'm always scared for my life.

March 10.

Wednesday.
Lunch at same Japanese ramen restaurant. This time my order was with fried rice, it wasn't as good as it looked and smelled. $800yen. Got this translucent powder at this ballerina store I think it was like 20USD cause it was like almost 2000yen?

We went to UNIVERSAL STUDIOS!

Random Japanese people and shrek

It started to rain...while we were in line for our first ride..which was a roller coaster called Hollywood Dream, except..it definitely did not play music as I sat on the ride. in the rain. everyone got outta line when it started heavy pouring, but I'm very stubborn so i waited..and waited..and total wait time? 1 hour and 30 minutes. They opened the ride for us select folks who waited so long, so it was a hella scary ride. since it just had the bottom holding you in..i was like grabbing onto the seat next to me..so scaryy dude...Then we walked around....and looked at the gift shops, there were so many, one was dedicated to hello kitty, another to snoopy, another to pink panther..etc. I got a churrito!! mmm chocolate! It was ..$300yen? Saw an animation thing...in..japanese...yeah..It was hella cool. I can't wait to go to universal studios again..in like florida or something! I think throughout the course of our day at universal, we only went on 3 rides. We also went on the JAWS one (REAL FIRE BLOWING, you can smell the gas, we were on a boat! EPIC) and the Space Fantasy ride.. (like your ride through space..the ride stays where it is..but the screen you look at is really cool and the ride tilts and steam that is cold blasts are you).

Everythings fake, but so cool looking

hello kitty buns! but i chose a churro instead >:(

snooopyyy

Saw the paradee as we were leaving ! OMG, thank god we didn't miss it, soo pretty!!!

ceiling of a shop

omg i love takoyaki's!

We went to eat at Namba at Sweet Paradise..another buffet..omg $1480yen. SO much sweets, but I wasn't THAT hungry, I got pasta and took a bite of..every..dessert that was LOLOL. Cause they were gonna throw it out anyways. Went to the 100 yen store, it's like the dollar store in the USA, aww love it love it! Got green tea/sakura kitkar bar! And some truffles which wasn't as good as expected cause it's not some brand name and fresh. and some fake eyelashes. Took me a while to understand this shower toilet. It cleans your butt! ahahaha, and i love how the toilet is heated <3 when you come in from the cold, it's heaven. They have toilet seat cleaner like hk as well.

Sweet Paradise Buffet!

March 11.

Thursday
Got up around 11 and went to eat sushi for lunch a street over. $600 for a plate of sushi..it was okay..came with soup..lots of men here...omg.

waiting for the train

Took the JR rail to Kyoto to see the Kiyomizu Temple. $300yen to enter, saw sakura aka cherry blossoms outside. Got green tea / sakura ice creamm..MMMM $430yen...Got my fortune or whatever $100yen, you know when you shake this wooden thing..and you shake until a stick falls out?? Well mines dropped cause I legit turned it upside down because this one has a hole for one stick to fall out unlike the Chinese ones..so I was veryy worried and I gave the stick to the lady and she gave me the paper..and my fortune was the best you can get!!! "Very auspicious" yayyy. Nicky just got "auspicious". Walked around.. Then I threw a coin in the thingy and rang the bell and clapped twice..and didn't make a wish, so fail. since stupid Nicky was like hurry up. and i can't think fast so ...when she was like.."did you make a wish?" I was like "no" soo she was likee "okay we'll do it again..at another one" lol.

And we ended up at this "love/romance" wishing spot LOL. She was so deeply in thought when she was wishing LOLOL.

There were these two stones, kind a far away from each other, parrallel, and it's said that if you can successfully walk from one to another, eyes closed, you can make a wish and it will come true. So she tried doing it, and I guess another japanese guy was doing it from the other end..and they crashed into each other and I thought it was the most hilarious thing ever. Her future japanese husband?!?!!

Then we left and went to another shopping district in Kawaramachi. I got a crepe..mmm $430yen? I bought a lot of stuff...ate at this famous UDON place called UDON. hahahaa, the boys were nice..behind us, got us a tray and all because we are dumb foreigners LOL. SOO GOOD. omg. He dumped a raw egg into my udon and you add tempura to your soup for extra $$. Large noodle, or you can choose medium...for 480yen and $130yen for shrimp tempura and another $130 for chicken tempura. Then headed back to hotel..and Nicky went out by herself to Namba to eat..ramen..weird..I wanted to go to get takoyaki, cause that stuff is mad good and I wanted to try it in Japan, but maybe next time. This was the point I realized I was awfully poor.

March 12

Friday.  Woke up around 9am. Got ready, dropped off luggage at front desk. Went off to Osaka Castle. There's so many ..guys in the hotel lobby. I guess all the guys like to stay at this hotel. It was 2 star but since it's Japan apparently it didn't matter. It lacked lotion so my skin was oh so dry and I failed to bring any..because I've never seen a hotel not have any. I got something to munch on, my first RICEBALL!! It's triangle shaped!! :)
The Riceball.

Pink Car!

We walked by this Buddha but I don't know what it's called

On the way! I can see it

Bonsai.?

So we got a bit lost...for a while going to the castle. But eventually we found it. It was the boringest part of the trip. We didn't even go in because ..we didn't wanna pay. And I like only had 2000 yen so it was a good decision to not go in, THOUGH if I had more i would have gone in.

The Osaka Castle :)

Saw some little kids. Lots of tourists. Then we saw some sakura aka cherry blossoms so we took pictures. I saw this pair of kitties! haha, they were like cuddling with each other..aww.

Sakura!

We went back to Shinsaibashi for lunch. Walked by this sushi place, and it was like a plate of sushi plus soup (miso I believe?) and tea for 830$ so we went in. The sushi makers are so jolly..and my sushi was premade but it was pretty good..for sashimi, I guess. There were big ass rolls though! NICE.

Then we walked around the shopping district until around 2:30pm when we headed back to the hotel to pick up my stuff and head to the airport on the airport express train. $890yen.

BUT before that I got to buy Palty hair dye, which I cannot find in hk or in MA so..Nicky lent me like $498yen and $200 for the train since I fail, lol. There was a cute japanese baby boy on the train next to us, ahaha.

Got to airport, dropped off our luggage, and ate..green tea ice cream, borrow $500yen from her because she wanted to eat...so whatever, why not.

mmm green tea !

our plane

Then we boarded our Cathy Pacific flight back to hk at ..6pm. I watched "The Invention of Lying" I thought I was watching something else..but it was hilarious..Then I tried reading for history, but I fell asleep and when I awoke we were almost homee!! Oh our plane scared me! I heard a loud noise coming from the bottom of the plane while we were still in the sky... but 10 minutes later we prepped and landed. Maybe some mechanical problem, but at least i'm still alive! ahaha, good trip.

Took a bus to Ma On Shan next to Nicky's family's apartment then I got a taxi back to campus... $62HKD. MY DRIVER TOOK ME TO A DIFFERENT ROUTE, so I had no clue how to get back, AND I THOUGHT HE KNEW WHERE HE WAS GOING, then we hit a dead end and I'm like "well...you coulda took the first right" and he was like "why didn't you tell me!?!?!" and I was like "CAUSE I THOUGHT YOU KNEW WHERE YOU WERE GOING!" hahaha, he tried asking some girl for directions but when the girl was trying to answer he was like "NEVERMIND YOU DON'T KNOW" and drove away AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA that was so effing funny. Then he was asking me how I don't know my way around and how long I've been here so I was trying to explain to him that I've been here for two months, so he was likeee "whattt" and I was like "I'm only in school til May and I'm not from here." He proceeded to tell me my cantonese was very good and if I was born here, so no I wasn't. HAhAha. and he goes on to tell me but I have an accent..a china accent..where are your parents from, and I was tryin to tell him it's an american accent and he was arguing that it wasn't so I was like whateverrr, it's american dudee..and he was like "oh you foreign girls, so cute" in cantonese LOL . I swear, taxi drivers Love talking to me. Everyone thinks I'm like hilarious or something. Maybe it's cause I'm always laughing when I talk, cause yennoo I'mm MAAAD jolly. SO i was back in my room around 11pm, and had to unpack. MY PALTY like leaked :( But it's okay, still usable, only a littleeee. slept around 3am.

Overall, I think Japan is a very nice place to visit. It was NOT on my list of places to go, yet it was my first place that I've been to since I have arrived in hk. There's so much fashion in japan..I saw a jill stuart in a section of a big department store..and it had a jill stuart cafe. I had to come back and google to see that it was based in NYC. Very interesting. I miss the warm toilet seats :( SOOO much

...I love not crashing into people...The nice air, besides the cold...being somewhere where no one knew me. Pharmacies that had half the store as a makeup store <3 It was a good trip and I want to embark on another one ASAP! though professors might kill me. Spent about 1k+ USD on this trip. I think if I don't buy anything, and just focus on food and attractions it'll be less
